After retiring, he continued working as a volunteer faculty member, serving OHSU for a total of 28 years. The annual Benson/Kendall Visiting Professorship lecture is named in his honor, along with John Kendall, Jr., M.D., for outstanding years served at the OHSU School of Medicine.
For this special lecture, the OHSU History of Medicine Society joins the OHSU School of Medicine in marking the school’s 125th anniversary. The lecture is free and open to the public.
