This week Max and Karen added 16 new images to HC&A's collections in the Digital Resources Library, including this striking photograph of Dr. Esther Pohl Lovejoy with her first husband, Emil Pohl, in Alaska.
The Pohls were both physicians, and spent almost two years in practice together in Skagway, Alaska. Esther later divided her time between Alaska and Portland, as Emil became involved in gold prospecting. He died of spinal meningitis in 1911.
Photographs of Dr. Lovejoy are some of our most-requested images. The DRL now holds 42 items associated with her.
Nice work, Max and Karen!
